Mark’s summary of this instrument

“This piano came out of a family home in Reading. It was being used as a family piano to get people through their grades. The customer, Andrew, upgraded to one of my Yamaha U3 pianos. Click the button below to hear me fumble my way through “Andaluzia” by Granados on this modest piano. Bear in mind that it does need tuning but I hope you can still hear that the tone is very pleasant. On the loud parts you will hear strange clicking noises. This is where I set the microphone to be too sensitive and it “clipped”. Sorry about that but I can assure it was not the piano making those noises.

In short, I would certainly recommend this piano to anybody who wants a good sounding piano that is fully working and feels nice to play. It will probably not cost you a penny in repairs for a good few years as long as you keep it tuned about once per year.

This piano is quite handsome in my opinion. It has a fairly simple design with no silly frilly bits. I can’t say for sure how old it is but I would guess it is from the 1930s, something like that. I quite like the legs at the front, how they slope diagonally. That is quite a rare design feature actually.

For this low price you already know that this piano is not as good as a Yamaha or a Steinway but it is also 10 times cheaper. The action is fully working, all notes work perfectly well and will do a good job of helping someone take their first steps in learning the piano. The sound is of a good enough standard for learning on also. In fact, the sound is quite good, it is nice and clear, not soft and muffled at all like some older pianos can be.”
