Kemble Tiny Upright Piano For Sale

Notes from Mark & Julie

“This is the smallest piano I’ve ever had in stock (or seen). It has just 5 octaves which obviously means it can fit into some tiny gaps but has some musical limitations too. Please read on if this sounds like fun!”>

This Kemble piano is a little bit tricky to assess. The small size has some brilliant advantages such as fitting it into small spaces and carrying it upstairs etc but on the other hand, there are good reasons why higher quality pianos are so big. So it all depends on what your needs are really.

A standard piano has 7 1/2 octaves but this one has only 5. For many people who are only interested in the odd casual practise session that will be fine because you can just choose to play pieces that just use the centre of the keyboard. But if you are working towards your grades then you will be running out of keys after about grade 4.

The quality of the action is not that great and the tone is towards the thin/bright end of things. We have noticed also that it doesn’t seem to stay in tune as long as a full size piano. So there are certainly limitations on this small size of piano.
