“The cheaper brand new Yamaha grand pianos are made in Indonesia and are of very dubious build quality. This Yamaha C1 is most definately not Indonesian made but is one of Yamaha’s “proper” pianos. This one is only around 6 years old and in tip-top musical condition (great touch and tone) but with a few bumps & bruises that keep the price at a “musician’s price” rather than a “must-look-great-in-my-hallway” kind of price”

We all know about the current popularity of Yamaha pianos (so long as they are made in Japan, not Indonesia) and in my opinion this is a deserved reputation. It’s a shame that other makers such as Kawai aren’t as popular because their quality is comparible and it would be good for everyone if there was more competition for Yamaha.
But anyway, this is a typically brilliant piano produced by Yamaha. The action feels great to play, the tone quality is also great with remarkable resonance and clarity. I would describe this piano as a “safe purchase” for anyone who needs a high quality piano, with an actual market value of around £8000 (and a brand new one is around £10,500), for a really good price.
